You and I can never, never, ever repay Jesus for what He has done for us. It is impossible! What we can decide to do is allow His love to heal us and to live a life worthy of His calling. You know we can not earn salvation, our place in heaven; but we can show our love for God and what He has done by obeying His commands!

Tempted

Tempted - 11:09/15

You cannot stop birds from flying over your head, but you can stop them from building a nest in your hair.

This is the same with temptation. You cannot stop from being tempted, but you do not have to entertain them either. The Bible says temptation comes to ALL of us. Now with that said, you can stay out of places of temptation... Basically, if there are areas that have caused problems in the past - stay away from them.

It's what we do with temptation when it comes. Do we entertain it, give place to it, give it a second thought; or a second look?  A great former pastor of mine once said, "It's the second look that will get you."

I asked the Lord before, "What is temptation?" He said, "It is a suggestion."

So, back to the question. Can you keep birds from flying over your head, the answer is no. We cannot keep from being tempted, but we do not have to listen to the suggestion of the enemy.

Most everything that the devil suggest we do is about bowing down and worshiping something other than God. If we know that God does not want us to participate in something, may even be something from your past... And you are tempted to do it, that is like bowing down to some other God. In essence we are elevating something higher than God and His command or Word.

Part of your equipment God has given you to resist the "suggestion," is the armor of God. According to Ephesians 6:10-18:

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

Put on God's whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. [Isa. 52:7.]

Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one].

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people). (Ephesians 6:10-18 AMP)

One of the main points of these scriptures is to keep alert to pray. Pray for yourself and for everyone else. They are going through some of the same temptation you are.

Another good scripture to use as your sword is "Thou shall have no other gods before Me." This will take care many of the suggestions that come into your heads... Speak it out of your mouth.

Remember as a born-again Christian, it is your right not to live like you once lived, or do the things you once did.

Jesus wants to help you win, let Him help you. Tell Him everything even when you are feeling weak. Lean on Him, put on the armor He provides, pray at all times.

And finally: One day we will not have to deal with temptation or suggestions anymore. Nor will we have to deal with our weakness. Until that day, we need to stay alert to pray.  God wants us to enjoy the lives He has given us too.

Who's Agenda?

Who’s Agenda?
The world is full of agend's…

This group has a plan or agenda, and that one has theirs. So many organizations, agencies, people and even the government have an agenda… Whether it is a social experiment, a misguided belief, pop-culture what have you; the agendas never end.

As we look all around us and see things we agree with and things we absolutely would be willing to die for, good, bad or indifferent – there really is only one agenda that matters, and that is the Ancient Agenda.

Who has the Ancient Agenda? The One! The Most High! The Alpha and the Omega (the Beginning and the End – the First and the Last! The Author, Creator, Sustainer, Designer, All-Powerful, All-Mighty, Everlasting God.

He too has an Agenda, and it is the Ancient One.

What is this agenda? The transformation of the human heart through His Son Jesus Christ.

Why: Matthew 1:21 says this

21 She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus [the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua, which means Savior], for He will save His people from their sins [that is, prevent them from failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God]. (AMP)

I like the end of this scripture, which hammers home the “end.” It also really illuminates this agenda “the true end and scope of life, which is God.”

A person’s heart must be transformed, must be made new; and that only through the cross of Christ. A person that accepts this gift of God, and yields their life too Him, comes into alignment with the Ancient Agenda.

Be Blessed,

The God of your?

The God of your?

Romans 15:13 Amplified Bible (AMP)
13 May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.

Who is the God of your Hope?
Is it the god of your education? "If I just had a degree or made more money."
Is it the god of your job? "My job is my provider."
Is it the god of a relationship? "This person will meet all of my needs?"

Or is it in the only true God, through Jesus Christ?

Psalm 23 Amplified Bible (AMP)
A Psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
3 He refreshes and restores my life (myself); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
4 Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
6 Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Our hope, our joy, our peace - resides in only one!

Amen?

Kevin

That Day

Church Alive Facebook Family - Mini Message: That Day
Zephaniah 1:1-18

Although we do not know the specific time or date when the King will return – His judgment is coming.

We do not spend a lot of time talking about this angle, but the fact that Jesus came in the first place lets us ponder the question… why?
What was the reason the Son of God came to the planet as a man…?  Of course we know the answer, because of sin. What is sin? Many things may come to your mind. Stealing, adultery, using the Lord’s name in vain etc, these are all sinful acts; but what is the root of sin itself? The answer is: Lawlessness. Rebellion can also be used to describe sin. Since God has now written His law on everyone’s heart, men are without excess. Everyone knows deep down inside kind-of what God expects. To live a sinful life is (in a way) treason.  There is a severe penalty that must be paid, by all parties for sin… God is God, and there is no other, He is the law-giver.  His judgments are coming, because He is just and the penalty for sin must be given to the guilty. There is a Day that the score is settled. Those living in rebellion against Him are given what they want – separation from Him forever!

God knows His own justice, wrath and judgments, they are severe and final (the final judgment yet to be exacted on the world); that is why He is appealing to people by means of His Son, through; of all people – us! We are the very ones who at one time, were in rebellion against Him and under His judgment.

God also knows His own love for us too. That is the only way He could have ever sent His only begotten Son to die that horrible death in our stead. It is because of His extravagant love He has for each one of us. John 3:16-17 (AMP).

Now to the nitty-gritty: God does ask for allegiance. He does ask for us to use our God-given free choice to make that choice… No one can make it for you. When you stand before Him on that Day, that day mentioned above, will you stand before Him accused of treason, rebellion and lawlessness against Him? Or will you stand before Him, pardoned of all of your crimes against Him, forgiven, made new?

The only pardon offered by Him, is Jesus. Jesus paid the awful fine you and I owe. Will you commit to Him your life, your future, your destiny? Will you surrender yourself unconditionally?

Matthew 4:19-20 (AMP)
19 And He said to them, Come after Me [as disciples-letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men!
20 At once they left their nets and become His disciples [sided with His party and followed Him].
His Judgments are coming – let’s be ready to meet Him, as forgiven.

From Every Direction

Just listening to the current radio news today... This wonderful country of ours is under attack from every direction.

From within.  As our schools (even kindergarteners) are being exposed to perverted sexual lifesytle teachings... And saying it is ok, that there is no judgment to come. Attacks against our own states and constitution of this land, having them try to be subjected to other nations of the world.

Should we take our cues from other countires, seeing as how the other nations of the world have done so well? Why has America been so blessed? Anyone with common sense would and could see it. We were founded on Jesus Christ as Lord.

America must be taken out of the way, for the very end time stuff to play out. In the last few years, there has been so many things that made this land so great that have come under fire.

It is nutty and some of the stuff is just down right crazy.

Not everyone loves the Lord, so therefore are under the control of the evil one; thats why.

We can do something. When you see injustice "stand up and get counted".
